Romantic Notions - "a Masterpiece that sings a timeless tune"

Romantic Notions - "a Masterpiece that sings a timeless tune"

Jukebox Mind Magazine writes: “What sets Tito apart from the crowd is his talent for taking his listeners on an introspective journey. His poignant composition is studded with intricate transitions, each note guiding listeners deeper into their emotional labyrinth. The endpoint of this journey is deeply personal and unique, often unearthing inner or outer connections obscured by time’s relentless march….

Drifting

Drifting

When I was putting Passionate Piano Moments together, I wanted it to be both a musical and visual journey. So, I dared to do something different and include the creative work of photographers that I thought captured the essence of the piano pieces I was composing. The song Drifting is the first song in Passionate Piano Moments….

L' Heure de la Mort and the Turbulent Winds of Emotions during Covid-19

L' Heure de la Mort and the Turbulent Winds of Emotions during Covid-19

During this pandemic, no one has been immune to the loss of loved ones. The winds of emotions during this pandemic have been nothing less than turbulent. Because emotions play such a significant part of how I process life, my creativity follows suit. So, I write music that helps me process all these feelings. The result was the creation of this upcoming album L’Heure de la Mort. L' Heure de la Mort pays tribute to those taken away from us - to those gone too soon. May they rest in peace as they are blessed in the eyes of God. L' Heure de la Mort means the Hour of Death. Although that moment is different for everyone, death's inevitability is the same for all. This album expresses all the emotions I have been feeling during this pandemic. There are some days of utter sadness, other days of self-empowerment. Yet there were other days where I just wanted to escape to a dream world free of this world's dysfunction. Other days I was inspired by the great acts of human kindness and courage….

However, one of the most salient blessings of Covid-19 is the burst of creativity that has resulted from those in quarantine, those on the front-lines - any place or time where human ingenuity is called upon artistically, scientifically, or practically to raise the human spirit, to solve problems, or to provide positive escapism and inspiration to those in need….

A Cinematic Approach to Silent Night, Holy Night

When I decided to do an arrangement of Silent Night, Holy Night, I, of course, wanted to approach it in a different manner than just a restatement of its well known melodic theme.  To understand why I approached composing this arrangement of Silent Night, Holy Night in the way that I did, close your eyes and imagine taking a holy journey or pilgrimage to visit the Holy Nativity. I musically conveyed what I imagined it would have been like to start and make this long journey, like the Three Wise Kings who followed the Star of Bethlehem to see the Blessed Child that prophets had foretold. The song begins with an unexpected yet distinctive minor key that is grave and poignant indicative of the quest such travelers of that time were about to face. Before composing the song with orchestra, I first composed it for piano.  To musically paint the song a sense of travel or journey, I used rolling triplets an sextuplets.  When I orchestrated the piano piece, I transformed the musical canvas of rolling triplets and sextuplets as rolling woodwinds and strings.  Soon thereafter one hears brass instruments build gloriously heralding one's approach to the Holy Nativity coupled with the commencement of Gruber's Silent Night, Holy Night theme upon one's arrival to the Holy Nativity.

The music Silent Night, Holy Night was originally…
